Standing alongside our armed forces community
June 25, 2026
Portsmouth has a long and proud connection with the Armed Forces and supporting those who serve, or have served, remains a vital part of our local community. Portsmouth Mental Health Hub is committed to ensuring that serving personnel, veterans, reservists, and military families have access to the mental health support they need.
Life in the Armed Forces can be rewarding, but it can also bring unique challenges. Deployments, time away from loved ones, operational pressures, and the transition to civilian life can all have a significant impact on mental wellbeing.
Portsmouth Mental Health Hub is a welcoming and confidential service where members of the armed forces community can access support, guidance and information tailored to their needs. The team works closely with local services, charities and healthcare providers to help people find the right support at the right time.
Whether someone is struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness, trauma, or simply needs a listening ear, we are here to help. By encouraging open conversations around mental health, we want to help reduce stigma and ensure that nobody feels they have to face their challenges alone.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is an accredited Veteran Aware organisation and has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, which means it carries out an extensive programme of work to demonstrate a measurable commitment to supporting armed forces personnel, both as a health service and a local employer.
Seeking support is a sign of strength and Portsmouth Mental Health Hub is proud to stand alongside the armed forces community, helping individuals build resilience and navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
